This is Nurse Manda’s second year at Hebrew Academy. She has been a school nurse in both public and private schools for the past seven years. She holds her RN degree from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing and her BSN from St. Joseph College in West Hartford. Prior to working as a school nurse, Manda worked in the cardiac and medical ICU units and level 1 trauma units. She has been the manager and visiting nurse in the home care setting and has had experience in both endocrinology and being a nurse consultant for disability and return to work programs. She also worked as the first RN in a start up health care prevention company that now has many offices in the US.
She has lived in North Granby Connecticut for the past 23 years with her husband of 24 years,and her two children, son Grant 16 y/o and daughter Maeve 15 y/o, her rescued cat and dog, “Sparky” and “Snoopy”. She has a great love and respect for nature and animals. Her favorite hobby is photography and feels blessed to live in such a beautiful area of CT. The ocean is her favorite place to spend time with her family and friends. She also enjoys swimming, hiking, biking and attending her children’s many sporting events. She loves to volunteer at many different fundraising events and school activities.
She enjoys teaching students to make healthy food choices and encourages them to be active. She believes empathy and kindness is a necessary part of her professional and personal life.
