Your contribution is appreciated!
Dear Friend of the Bess and Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy,
Thank you for your past support of the Hebrew Academy. This year, as we kick off the Hebrew Academy’s Annual Campaign, the school is continuing to improve upon last year’s benchmarks.
- Our enrollment has increased by nearly 10%.
- We have reestablished the Ganenu program for two year olds and the Gemara program for the middle school.
- We have introduced new curricula, including Science Fusion in grades K-5, Write Source in 3-8, and Singapore Math in K-2.
- Our music program has begun teaching children how to play musical instruments – recorder and keyboard.
- Our drama club is already preparing its can’t-miss end-of-year production of “Beauty and the Beast.”
The learning extends beyond the classroom. Following the devastating hurricanes in Houston, the Florida Keys, and Puerto Rico, our students burst into fundraising action. A month later, the students had presented two canvas bags filled with bills and coins to our local Federation, with the raised funds totaling $446.62.
These are tangible markers of our school’s advances. Yet whenever I visit the building –and I invite you to join me – I am overtaken by all the intangible features of the school’s environment – the colorful student projects decorating the entrance to the nursery wing; the sounds of our first grade children conversing in Hebrew with their teacher; the awesome sight of our 3rd-8th graders filling our shul in prayer; the aroma of the cholent wafting through the great room on Friday. To paraphrase King David – a visit to our school is perfect; it restores the soul.
Your generosity is vital to our mission and supports Jewish education in the greater Hartford community. Please pledge your contribution at www.sigelacademy.org/donate. Thank you in advance for your generous contribution to the Sigel Hebrew Academy Annual Campaign.
