Birthday Parties

Many younger classes allow treats to be brought from home to help celebrate birthdays. As previously mentioned, all treats must be verified as kosher and must be Chalav Yisrael and Pas Yisrael. This stringency requires additional supervision on dairy products and baked products While a product may be certified as kosher, not all members of the class may be able to participate. If you have any questions please ask the Rabbi.

There are children in the school with potentially life-threatening allergies to dairy or nuts. You will be informed of such a circumstance in your child’s class. In such a case, foods which are dangerous to a student will not be permitted in the class.

It is very difficult for children to be excluded from class parties. We strongly urge parents to invite the entire class, or all of the boys/girls so that no child is excluded. Please be especially sensitive if handing out invitations at school. Also remember that your child’s class has students from many religious backgrounds. Adhering to the school’s policies of using only store bought foods with acceptable supervision will make your guests most comfortable. When in doubt please ask.
